I know I shop a lot, but every time I see large shopping bill, it still comes as an unpleasant surprise -- especially when it contains overheads like food, travel, fuel surcharges, etc. Therefore, over the months, I've worked on my own theory of how I can minimize on extra costs:
Never go shopping when hungry
This adds a lot to my expenses. If I go on an empty stomach, I tend to grab something or the other to eat while I'm shopping. It definitely happens after I've been through a couple hours worth of shopping and my stomach is killing me with hunger pangs. Therefore, I figured that if I'm stuffed before I leave, I could probably save up on that.
Plan for convenient locations beforehand
I know we all have our favourite places where we buy, but I figured if I can find most of the things I need in one place, that would save a lot of time and money for me. Besides, it means I get to spend more time during the day actually browsing stuff rather than travelling from one place to another.
For now, that's all for my plans. I'll let you know how this works out and how much money I'm able to save.
