About the WEA.
The WEA is a national voluntary organisation,
founded in 1903 to provide working people with a chance to take
their education further. Each year over 10,000 courses are
provided nationally for more than 150,000 students. The WEA has
no party political or religious ties, and welcomes all students,
especially people who have missed out on education in the past.
The WEA is a charity, non-profit making, and is recognized and
supported by central and local government.
The IVINGHOE BRANCH was established in 1950,
and so has been providing courses locally for 55 years on a wide
variety of subjects. We hope that this year's Programme will
interest you and you will come along and enjoy the courses we
have organised for you.
Tuition on all WEA Courses is free to people who receive a means-tested benefit, or Job-Seekers Allowance, and to their unwaged dependants, although a registration fee of £2 per course will be charged.
