Road and bridge improvement work at Leighton Linslade
Improvement work has started on the A4146 road and canal bridge at Leighton Linslade.
Work to strengthen the underside of the canal bridge started in February. A diversion is in place for pedestrians.
In April work will begin on the road and will last until October. There will be a traffic lane in each direction throughout most of the works. Over several weekends bridge closures (Saturday evening Monday morning), will be necessary to complete work in the centre of the road. The bridge closures are planned from April to July. During the closures there will be a signed diversion to the north along Stoke Road (A4146), the A5 and Hockliffe
Road (A4012).
Road resurfacing will start in August and will mainly be carried out at night between 8pm and 5am with two-way traffic signals in operation. The resurfacing is expected to be complete in six weeks.
